12/28/2006 - The broken wrist could have been fixed with a closed reduction and casted for many weeks; but, because I am "young", it was recommended (and I concurred) that the best solution to restore me to near 100% original condition, I have an open reduction with the surginal insertion of a titanium plate, screws and pins to hold all the fractured pieces of my wrist in place for most accurate healing. The fixaction may be later removed (if desired); but requires another surgery (and the usual risks of surgery).
