18 - Damage to Paramotor

damagetoparamotor.jpg

1/21/2007 - Here's the damage sustained to my powered paraglider frame and cage. It all appears to be very reparable with a few new aluminum tubes and welds (which I've [thankfully] become quite good at. Some slight tip damage to my [still] original propeller; but also very fixable.

Currently, we suspect the wing in this incident -- it is getting up in age/hours and, the last couple of flights, I had been noticing it "hanging-back" during launch (this was even caught on video) -- I am sending the wing out for inspection and will share the results ASAP. Needless to say, if I do return to flying [most likely], I will purchase a BRAND NEW wing.

BTW, I have to send out a very special thank you to my wife and kids for helping/tolerating me throughout this ordeal. And, another huge thanks to all my IPPGA friends/pilots for their support too.

Stay tuned for more details and please fly safely everyone!
